Food is a huge part of spiritual work and we will do our best to explain objectively why people adapt their diets during conscientious spiritual practices, what you can expect from switching your diet and the science behind popular restrictive diets. Food will appear in many areas during our time together and we aim to provide delicious and abundant foods for you to take your knowledge home and improve your decision making and culinary expertise to empower you to eat as you deem most fit for your requirements and routine.
All the meals provided during your retreat are sourced locally from organic and ethically minded practices. We will take you around local markets and interact with the vendors to give you experience in asking the right questions and choosing the correct ingredients for both conscientious eating and dense nutrition. We take time talking to local food vendors, understanding their practices and learning about local ingredients. We welcome continual open conversations where we learn together about the benefits of taking care of our diet and the considerations in our daily choices of nutrition.
Selection of foods for morning smoothie.
Cushuro, a tasteless Peruvian lake algae that packs an incredible amino acid matrix.
Our lovingly prepared meals are vegan and focus on the inclusion of superfoods grown in the Cusco region such as Maca, Quinoa, Chia, Flax and Cacao, as well as locally grown fruit and vegetables. Our morning smoothies provide sustenance, nutritional boosts of essential amino acids and oils and a fully balanced flavour, appealing to all tastes and dietary preferences. In addition to full and balanced lunches and dinners, there will also be many snacks on hand should you feel peckish such as fruits, nuts and seeds. We love to graze!
Note: By default we offer an opportunity to try a fully vegan food experience but we do not chastise those who eat dairy or animal products. Unfortunately in Cusco we cannot source meat that can be guaranteed toxin and hormone free, for this reason we do not recommend the quality of the available meat. There are however, sources of organic milk and eggs if this is a dietary requirement for you.
